About this site
This website is published by the Leak Detection Institute of Australia (LDIA), a not-for-profit body, currently forming. Content on this site describes the Institute as it is being established, including plans, standards and programs that are in development and not yet operating.
General information, not advice
Content on this site is general information about the leak-detection discipline and the Institute's own accreditation policy. It is not legal, financial or professional advice, and it is not a statement of what any law requires or permits. Licensing and scope-of-work requirements differ between Australian states and territories and change over time; verify current requirements with the relevant regulator before acting.
Gas safety
Nothing on this site is an instruction for locating, testing or repairing gas leaks. All gas pressure and leak testing and all make-safe work must be carried out by an appropriately licensed gasfitter, in accordance with AS/NZS 5601.1. If you suspect a gas leak, contact your gas distributor's emergency line or a licensed gasfitter immediately.
Accreditation and the register
The LDIA accreditation scheme and public register are in development. Until they operate, no listing, credential or accreditation status should be inferred from this site. Registering interest does not grant membership or accreditation.
Intellectual property
The LDIA name, the Pinpoint Pulse mark and the content of this site belong to the Institute (and, during establishment, its founder). Don't reproduce the mark or present yourself as accredited or affiliated without written permission.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, LDIA excludes liability for loss arising from reliance on the content of this site. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under Australian law, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
